Gravenhurst, ON - The 26th annual Gravenhurst Car Show returns to Gull Lake Rotary Park, Gravenhurst on Saturday, June 15.
All cars are welcome and greatly appreciated. This year’s theme - Celebrating 100 years of the Chevy truck - might attract a few more trucks.
Sponsored by Canadian Tire Gravenhurst, last year the show attracted almost 600 vehicles from across Ontario. The vehicles run the gamut of makes and models, stretching back through nearly a century of automotive history. In addition to the cars themselves, the show features food and beer vendors, face painting and dozens of prizes ready to be given away to car owners and guests.
For those who register their vehicles early, there’s also the chance to win $500 towards a set of tires from Wayne’s Tire in Gravenhurst. Wayne’s Tire Discounter is also the People’s Choice trophy sponsor.
This car show would not be possible without the hundreds of car enthusiasts who bring their cars each year. Every show car visiting gets a collectible Gravenhurst Car Show dash plaque and the first 100 cars through the gate get a commemorative car show T-shirt.
Back by popular demand, the Vango free photo booth will be on hand - it’s a renovated 1960s VW bus. Last year’s addition of a state-of-the-art wireless sound system allowed music and announcements to be clearly heard throughout the entire park. We also have face painting for the little ones. Great food and interesting vendors complete the show.
The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine with admission by donation requested to help offset the cost or running the event.
Guests are encouraged to cast their vote for the top 10 People’s Choice Awards. Thanks to the generous support of last year's visitors and sponsors, the Chamber and Car Show committee was able to donate $500 bursary for a Gravenhurst High School student taking automotive studies.
The Car Show wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of sponsors like Canadian Tire Gravenhurst, Wayne's Tire Sales, Sawdust City Brewing Co., Greavette Chevrolet, Cavalcade Ford, Unique Muskoka, Hagerty, Home Building Centre Gravenhurst, No LImits Performance, Hap's Place RV, Muskoka 411, Hunters Bay Radio, Muskoka Springs and Muskoka Rock Company.
