Genevieve Smolders, the creative drive behind hen + bear jewelry, majored in fashion communications at Ryerson university in Toronto Canada. She prides her line in being purely handmade. Each piece is hand-made and unique, adding to the overall distinctiveness. inspiration comes from both aboriginal and bohemain cultures, nature, and raw materials.
Jonathan Harper has been making functional stoneware pots as his career for 32 years. He began his business in Burlington and is presently in Waterdown, Ontario. This work takes him to approximately twenty to thirty retail craft shows each year ranging from Ontario, Quebec, New York, Michigan, and Vermont. His wares are also sold in a number of Ontario craft stores.
Jonathan is drawn to stoneware and the rock and water contrasts you can create in it. Most of his carvings are influenced by the rhythms of basketry and block printing, as well as his love of biological diversity.
