  • Art of Peter Ripley

    Art of Peter Ripley

Peter J. Ripley has been painting for 55 years. He studied Commercial Art at Central Tech in Toronto and has also completed courses at the Ontario College of Art & Design. Peter’s chosen medium is transparent watercolour and he enjoys working wet in wet. Winter scenes, he finds, are conducive to the medium but also works in acrylic. Landscapes of the Muskoka area are what primarily inspire Peter and he spends most of his time painting in his studio, located in Foots Bay in Muskoka. He also paints scenes of Europe. Peter has shown his paintings at The McMichael Art Gallery in Kleinburg, Waterfest in Midland, Cobourg Art Festival, Pelham Art Festival, Kawartha Art Festival, Rideau Valley Art Festival and Muskoka Arts and Crafts of which he is a member. He also does commission work

All of the items I create are truly unique, I have my own style. It’s not just another mug or piece of jewelry, it’s functional art. People feel a connection when they hold a piece that speaks to them. It might remind them of a fond childhood memory, visiting family in the country, being at the cottage. They can bring a little bit of the cottage vibe home with them when they cannot be there in person. The glazes I create have been tweaked to enhance my carvings and give them depth.

  • Rosewell Woodworking

    Rosewell Woodworking

I have passionately pursued woodworking all my life and create beautiful, one of a kind, wooden grinders for coffee, pepper and salt. I especially look for unique wood or burls to use and upcycle many wood "cutoffs" that would otherwise be someone’s burnable. This wood is all "turned" into pieces that are fully functional and a beautiful addition to someone's kitchen. Each piece is unique and different and made with care so that our customers truly have a one of a kind item.
