The Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce was incorporated in 1948 and is governed under the National Board of Trades Act. The objective of the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce is to promote and improve trade and commerce, and improve the economic, civic and social welfare of the Town of Gravenhurst. The Board is comprised of a president, vice president and secretary/treasurer who together with eight other members are elected by the members for two year terms.
The fiscal year end takes place September 30th annually with an AGM taking place within six months of year end.
The Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce is an approachable and progressive organization supporting the local business community.
We will provide leadership and access to opportunities by promoting member engagement.
In April 2015, the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce conducted a service review engaging members to determine the priorities and areas for review for the organization. The survey responses were an integral part of determining the strategic plan objectives and data used throughout the plan was sourced from the survey responses.
Chamber of Commerce Operational Goals
– Continue to grow the chamber through board/member engagement, to promote the community and attract visitors and residents.
– Reduce event planning role to ensure community business development priorities are achieved.
– Establish the Chamber as a Community Marketing Agency promoting the business community, attractions and events making Gravenhurst a great place to visit, work & live.
– Sustain existing service functions and workloads while increasing financial stability.
