Harish will outline the itinerary for the 8 day adventure, including the scheduled stops and accommodations. Learn about the culture, food and language of the people you will encounter on your trip. Find out more about destinations on the tour (cost is $2,490 for Chamber members – taxes included) including the 2,000 year old Great Wall of China, the Forbidden City and the Lingering Garden.

Where to Get Your Maple Fix in Gravenhurst

Baked Goodies & Sweets

 

For the Muskoka Maple Trail, you have to try their maple pecan apple strudel, a homemade pastry with an apple and maple pecan filling, topped with their famous puff pastry and coated in maple frosting. You can also pick up their delicious maple pecan square which starts with their famous butter cookie recipe base, a gooey maple pecan filling and topped with milk chocolate drizzle. Stop in Tuesday – Saturday to try these decadent treats.

 

Maple Brews & Cocktails

Sawdust City Brewing Company has injected some sweetness into their tasting board this season. Visit Sawdust City Brewing Company and sample their limited release beer Eagle’s Tear. Brewed with pure Muskoka water, this Maple Coffee Sour Red Ale is available in The Sawdust City Saloon and for purchase in the Brewery’s retail store. When the sap flows, the Brewery features a variety of maple beer as well as butter tarts, and their own Dark Maple Syrup blend available for purchase. Request a booking for a brewery tour, offered 12pm to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

The Gravenhurst Chamber Winter Gala is a Chamber fundraising event.  Taking place annually on the third weekend in November, the event celebrates the local business community.  The evening includes dinner, live music, dancing, DJ, silent auction and more.

 

Your Chamber of Commerce hosts two of Gravenhurst’s largest events attracting thousands of tourists to the area. The last Saturday in June is always the Gravenhurst Car Show (June 17, 2017) and Dockside Festival of the Arts, takes place the last weekend in August (Aug. 18, 19 and 20, 2017) at the Muskoka Wharf. The chamber also hosts and coordinates the annual Santa Claus parade.

network and socialize with fellow entrepreneurs.

We are bringing back our membership directory combined with a visitor guide, due to visitor and member requests.

 

Promotion on Visitor Centre monitor – Our Visitor Centre is also home to a Service Ontario office with thousands of visitors. Please submit a high resolution photo and we will add your business name and contact information or you may submit a photo with your information for us to include in rotation on the monitor. A second photo for a three month period (January to  March, April to June, July to September, October to December) is available for $75.

 

Business Resource Centre Room rental – each member gets a free half-day rental in our Business Resource Room which is available for all your small meeting and presentation needs. The Centre is equipped with the technology needed to host seminars, presentations and meetings and includes Wi-Fi, HDMI ports to connect a laptop (not provided), two wall mounted monitors, a kitchenette (no stove) and more. The Business Resource Centre can comfortably seat 12 + presenter, around a one of a kind live-edge executive table, with room for additional chairs if needed. Rates are $30 per hour or $150 for the day (8 hours) plus HST. For weekends or evenings, a higher fee may apply. *All rental fees are due upon confirmation of booking.

 

E- blast – for just $100 per member (and $200 for non members). To directly reach your business to business market, we offer an e-blast. Instead of including your message in The Ground Up Newsletter, you message will be sent as a single item to our almost 600 subscribers.

 

The extremely popular Gravenhurst Car Show in Gull Lake Park

is also organized by the Chamber.

Just a reminder that in order to vote in tomorrow’s AGM you need to be a member in good standing. You can renew your membership by cash, cheque or credit card at the office or during the March 8 AGM at the Muskoka Discovery Centre. You can also give us a call at 705-687-4432 if you’d like to provide credit card details by phone.

Anyone who has renewed their membership by the end of March will also be included in our membership directory, which will be distributed to more than 120 locations this spring.
